Description
The Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 in the desirable 4-inch configuration represents one of the finest eras of classic American revolver craftsmanship. Chambered in .44 Magnum and built during the pinned-and-recessed period, the 29-2 is widely regarded as peak traditional Smith & Wesson production — prior to internal locks and modern manufacturing changes.
This example features a factory nickel finish retaining approximately 95%, with strong shine and only light handling marks consistent with normal, careful use. The bore is bright and sharp, and the revolver exhibits solid lockup with a smooth double-action pull and crisp single-action break. The factory wood target grips remain in excellent condition with only very minor nicks and light wear from handling.
Included with the revolver are the original owner’s manual, firearm safety card, and warranty card. A Smith & Wesson factory box is also included (originality of the box to this specific revolver not verified). The 4" barrel length makes this a particularly desirable configuration — offering improved balance and versatility compared to the more common 6" models.
Whether you are a collector seeking a strong example of the iconic 29-2 or a shooter looking for a classic .44 Magnum from the golden era of Smith & Wesson, this revolver delivers both historical appeal and practical performance in one of the most recognized revolver models ever produced.
